LOCATION	District Jaime Prats, Department San Rafael, Province of Mendoza, Argentina. The field is on 2 paved roads (143 and 200), at 60 km from the airport of San Rafael (37 miles), 14 km from the city of General Alvear (9 miles) and 275 km from Mendoza city (170 miles).
SIZE	1410 ha (640 ha with definitive irrigation rights from the Atuel River. The remainders are dry lands on the banks of the river) (3484 and 1581 acres).
DESCRIPTION	Farmstead with house for owners, gardens, house for caretaker, administration, boxes, pens, riding arena, corrals for horses, workshops, blacksmith, 4 sheds and houses for staff. Rotative lots for cattle fattening. Electricity. On route No 200, at 600 m from the farmstead, is the main pipe of drinking water (1908 feet). It has enough infrastructures to carry out agricultural activities. This infrastructure allows completing tasks without waiting for the contractors’ times. Irrigation is done via a superficial system, currently they are working to bring the system to furrows in direct. With investments in irrigation technology, yields can be improved noticeably.
APTITUDE	It is a field suitable for agriculture and intensive cattle farming. Livestock: The 3 activities of the production chain are performed: breeding, rearing and fattening. Breeding: on about 760 ha of dry land farming (1878 acres), the activity is carried out with 500 cows. The dry land limits to west with the plateau with irrigation right and to northeast with the Atuel River. They are low river areas mixed with upland areas, mounts and plateaus. Wheatgrass was implanted and it has been divided into 5 lots to improve grazing. There are working pens, chutes and loaders. Rearing: takes place in the land with irrigation rights, which are used in mixed activities for agriculture and livestock for the purposes of agricultural rotations. From April to September the rearing is done with corn silage supplements From October to March it is performed on alfalfa pastures with intensive rotational grazing system. For this activity, there are 12 km of pipes for the watering system (7 miles). In each pasture there are water outlets with portable troughs. Fattening: for cattle fattening the there are pens of different sizes for finishing with wet rations consisting of corn, alfalfa, soybean expeller and vitamins and minerals nuclei delivered twice a day using mixers and distributors. In the area of pens there are also corrals, chutes, headgates, scale for steers and loading chute. Agriculture: Coarse grains: are cultivated for silage, for own consumption and sale. They are converting the traditional planting methods to direct seeding, with surface irrigation. There is the machinery for planting, fertilizing, spraying and harvest. During the 2009/2010 season were planted 170 ha of corn (420 acres), as well as forage sorghum and soybeans. Alfalfa: is grown in about 170 ha with surface irrigation, with the intention to sale rolls and own seed production (420 acres). Olives: they have intensified existing olive groves, reaching about 20,000 plants. The olives are for olive oil production. Vegetables: planted in winter and summer of onions, peppers and tomatoes, it is projected to seed potatoes, carrots and garlic.
